Kicker 48CWRT82 CompRT 8″ Subwoofer, DVC, 2-ohm
$ 62.81
I bought this sub to replace my Ford Explorer 2013 Limited 10 Speaker sound systems OEM Sub. Now, on the Amazon listing, it says that it’s a 300 watt handling sub, which for my sound system would be perfect because that would meant that it’s actually 150 watts per voice coil. However, it is not a 300 watt sub, it’s actually a 600 watt sub and it is 300 watts per voice coil. Although it sounded great with the stock amp, I knew I wasn’t getting the best I could get using the OEM amp. Now, I did not want to change the amp at all, only to replace the sub. This did have great bass, took a while to break in, and after the break in period it sounded great, really good ….Now, I can only imagine what this sub sounds like with a dedicated amp. Now many people will love the way this sub sounds on their OEM amp, I did, but I knew I was missing something due to the wattage difference.I then purchased the Rockford slim line sub, which was slightly more expensive, but had the wattage I needed which was max 300 watts which meant 150 watts per voice coil and the sound was exactly what I wanted, the entire car was filled with solid bass, exactly how I wanted it to be.Now this doesn’t take away from this sub at all, I just wish that it was a 300 watt handling sub instead of 600.
